A Tralee based Education Company has opened a new training centre in Portlaoise, their fifth training centre in Ireland since opening their first in Tralee in 2005.
Flúirse Education Solutions, based in Monavalley Business Park in Tralee, own and operate Pitman Training centres in Kerry, Cork, Waterford, Wexford and most recently Laois, as well as a successful online training business. The company was founded as an elearning business by Kristian O’Donovan and Tomás Finneran back in 2005, but quickly expanded beyond elearning to offer career focussed training throughout Ireland.
Their centres have received a number of accreditations and awards recently including a Business All Star Award and successfully reached the final of the Irish Education Awards.
Co-founder Kristian O’Donovan believes the reason their centres are so popular is down to their unique approach to training.
“At our training centres, we take the time to understand the goals and objectives of anyone considering training with us. Once we’re clear about that, we’ll create an individual training programme to meet these requirements, so the student can be sure they’ll reach their objective without wasting time or money.”
At their Pitman Training centres, the company offer Diploma programmes based specifically around careers, with their Medical and Legal Secretary Diplomas, Management Diplomas and Accounting Diplomas proving to be particularly popular with employers.
Pitman Training Certificates, Awards and Diplomas are nationally and internationally recognised and all of their training courses are accredited by The CPD Standards Office. They also offer a range of industry standard certifications including Adobe, Microsoft, AAT, CompTIA and many more.
No previous experience or qualifications are required, and students can enrol year-round on over 400 courses ranging from Office Administration and Management to Computer Networking, and Software & Programming.
Tomás Finneran explained that their courses are primarily designed to meet the needs of employers.
“Employers love our graduates because they gain real-world, practical skills that are relevant to their workplace, and our students love our flexible training and test times. They can choose the days and times they want to attend and also the length of each training session.”
The Pitman Training centres are recognised for their practical training courses and unique and flexible training methods, providing an exciting and highly accessible alternative to those that might not have the time or money to return to college, but are still eager to progress their career with new skills and qualifications.
Tomás Finneran explained how their training is very different from what you might expect from schools and colleges.
“Our training centres are open evenings and weekends, and our students can choose to train full-time, part-time or even from home using our unique blended learning approach, allowing them to upskill and secure a new qualification at times that suits them.”
“In fact, for many people, we can often ensure they can secure a promotion or new career, new skill or whatever their goal is, in just a few weeks! It’s about smarter training, not just more training.”
Aside from their Pitman Training centres, Flúirse have an established eLearning and online training business, specialising in course development and online training for Primary School teachers throughout Ireland.
Kristian doesn’t see this as a vastly different side to their business.
“While we provide training to thousands of teachers each year via our online training platform, we don’t see this as being very different from what we do each day at our training centres. The same principles and values still apply… delivering training that is relevant and practical, ensuring we continue to strive to deliver the most remarkable service at all times, whether that’s face to face or online.”
Today, Flúirse employ over 25 staff working across their training centres and main offices in Tralee, and have plans of further expansion.
“We’re eager and excited to grow the company further” explained Kristian. “The demand for our training programmes continues to grow, and we can see great opportunities to grow further by opening additional training centres throughout Ireland”
