Course Questions

The course completion requirements are as follows:

You are required to post two comments to the forum post at the end of each module throughout the course. Each contribution is required to be at least 100 words.

Your progression from module to module is contingent on the successful completion of these assignments.

The end of course reflective assignment, must demonstrate achievement of the course’s stated learning outcomes.

You will be required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of training, however up to a maximum of 10 hours of training can be offline. Therefore, you should note any time you spend offline (e.g. reading reports, articles, watching videos etc outside of the training system)

If you signed up for your course online you will have received an email with login details to start your training. Please check your spam/junk email folder as it may have landed in there.

All our course facilitators monitor the progress of every teacher on their respective course so please allow up to 2 weeks for the grade and feedback for the End of Course assignment. Should you not receive your grade within 2 weeks from completing your course, you should contact the support team at [email protected]

The courses contain 5 modules each of which is made up of individual lessons. Each module contains approximately 4 hours of training content (this includes time allocated for assessments and end of course assignments).

You are required to engage with the course for at least 20 hours. (Time spent training “offline” e.g. reading articles on external websites, downloads, offline learning activities etc can be recorded as offline time up to a maximum of 10 hours. You should therefore note any time you spend training outside of the system (offline) so you can record this separately.

Yes, you can decide to do either. It is up to you what way you want to complete the course, once you demonstrate engagement for at least 20 hours. (We would recommend spending as much time as possible training online and at the very least 10 of these hours must be online if you have spent the remaining time training offline).

You are required to post to the forum at the end of each module throughout the course. You will need to post two comments. Each contribution is required to be at least 100 words.

This is usually caused by not meeting the criteria for completing the previous module, in particular posting at least two contributions to the course forum.

The minimum word count is to be no less than 300 words and not more than 500 words. However, this may vary depending on the course so please follow the specific end of course assignment instructions in each course.

Naturally, like most courses, it is only possible to evaluate your grade when you have completed the course.

There is two parts to the assessment:

1. Meeting the Minimum Criteria: You are required to complete all 5 modules, regularly contribute to the course forum after each module (at least 2 meaningful contributions per module).

2. Assignments: You must reflective forum assignments by posting to the forums at the end of each module, as well as an overall End of Course Assignment. You must also complete of an end of course questionnaire.  Once you have met each of these conditions, you should qualify for your EPV days and receive your Flúirse certificate of completion following grading of your course (usually within 2 weeks from submitting your end of course assignment).

There is a useful checklist called “Course Completion Tasks” under the Resources section which you should always refer to ensure you have met all the criteria for your specific course.

Once your assignment has been graded by the course facilitator (usually within 2 weeks of completing your course) and you have completed the assessments and contributed two comments to the forum post in each module, your certificate will be available from the resources section of your course.

You should download your certificate to your PC manually as the certificates will not be automatically emailed to you and will only be available to download or access until the end of October each year.

The course notes are available in the resource section in PDF format. Course notes will not be available until after the first week of July and should only be used as an additional reference or as a reference after completing your course. You are encouraged to spend the maximum amount of time online to maximise engagement with the training content and community.

Please note: not all courses have Course Notes available.

If you scroll to the top of the screen, and below the name of your course, click on the breadcrumb trail, (e.g. Home/Course/FSC22## – The name of your course). This will take you back to your course index page.

Yes, you can submit your completed assignment in Word format. Please check the specific end of course assignment criteria in each course for more details.

We have a new simplified system from Summer 2023.

Your online training time is calculated automatically by our system. This can take up to 2 hours to update, so please log out and check back later and you should find your online time record is accurate. For time spent on offline training (or training outside our online learning system such as when reviewing content on an external website or reading printed notes), you can add this “offline” time manually.

Your current online time (i.e. the time of your last session) will not show immediately in the attendance register, this can take up to 2 hours after you finish and logout from your current session. However, you can always confirm the system “sees” you online by checking the “Last activity on Site” date and time under “User’s Sessions summary” section.
