  • Analyse the SSE six-step process and its implementation
  • Outline practices found useful for schools implementing SSE
  • Illustrate ways in which distributed leadership can be applied
  • Explain the benefits of a whole school approach to change
  • Examine how to build a participatory school culture 
  • Outline the fundamental nature of what’s involved in change, for self and for school

 

Assessment
Each module will require you to contribute a post to the course forum in response to a question posed by the course facilitator. Each question will require critical thinking on the question posed to stimulate discussion among your community of learners.  All responses will be discussed in the moderated forum and will in turn result in the development of a community of practice. During the course, you will need to answer multiple-choice questions to assess your knowledge retention.

To complete the course, you will need to undertake a significant assignment based on all modules. This assignment will take the form of a reflective exercise, the creation of a lesson plan to be used in the following academic year, and/or an opportunity for you to analyse:

  • Your key learning points from the course
  • The subject of the course in terms of your own experience
  • Practical examples of how you intend to apply what they have learned to your classroom in the year ahead
