Teaching the junior classes can be daunting as it is an incredibly influential time for young learners and forms an important foundation for life-long learning.  However, this course will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to educate this age group in a confident manner. It will provide you with practical ideas, teaching methodologies, tips and strategies to support teaching these classes across a wide variety of subject areas. It will provide a practical guide for teachers who are new to teaching the junior classes but will also serve to refresh, enlighten and invigorate those with experience in these classes. This course will provide teachers with up-to-date evidence-based teaching strategies for supporting young learners in primary schools. Participants will be provided with ideas, strategies and support in literacy, numeracy, Gaeilge and SESE. Topics such as STEM, Aistear, CLIL (teaching another subject through Irish), station teaching, Ready Set Go Maths, writing genres, homework, classroom management and organisational tips along with many others will be explored and discussed.
