To qualify for your EPV days* you can select from any of our practical and beneficial suite of courses. The more courses you select, the more EPV days you receive:

  • 1 online course – 3 EPV days entitlement
  • 2 online courses – 4 EPV days entitlement
  • 3 online courses – 5 EPV days entitlement

All our courses are run in accordance with the Department of Education and Skills criteria. Courses begin on Thursday, 1st July 2021 and must be completed by Friday, 20th August 2021 at 5.00pm.

Each course requires approximately 20 hours of study. The Discussion forums are facilitated by expert moderators. When you have successfully completed your course you will receive your CPD Certificate.

Explore the full potential of Interactive Whiteboards and various free software to create engaging educational content.

From the outset, you will be introduced to Interactive Whiteboards and their ability to facilitate social learning. You will be shown a variety of free open source software to enable you to create engaging educational content. Using Impress software, a free open source software, you will be shown how to create, edit, open and manipulate presentations for use in cross-curricular teaching. Impress is a free version of Microsoft PowerPoint. Part of the course will involve the development of a short lesson to be delivered via an Interactive Whiteboard.  You will also be advised where to source interactive lessons.



  • Target Audience: Teachers who want to acquire up-to-date skills in creating or updating your current classroom or school blog
  • Equipment Required: All our courses are accessible through PC, Laptop, iPad, Tablet and Mobile devices. Internet access required with broadband speeds recommended. Do not need access to an IWB
  • Prerequisites or Requirements: Suitable for all primary school teachers. Suitable for all primary school teachers. Prior use or access to an Interactive Whiteboard not necessary. Impress is a free open source version of PowerPoint. The Impress software if free and easy to download and we would recommend downloading it if you would like to fully engage on the course
  • Duration: All Flúirse Online Teacher Summer Courses are available from July 1st – August 20th.  Each course requires approximately 20 hours of training and engagement
